Murdoch Hill Winery - Australia
The Downers family has lived on this fertile land since the 1939. In the early beginning, it was only engaged in the cultivation and herding of general crops. It was not until 1998 that they began to focus on the vines and brew great wines. On the 20 hectares of land Charlie and Julie Downers planted different varieties of grapes. Sorted by importance, the respectively order is Sauvignon blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Michael, his son, is the in charge of the winery now. He has a Bachelor of Science in Adelaide University. Recently, he got the title of Young Gun in Australian Winemaker Award.
