Calcannia: Nestled within the picturesque Stanley Flat region of renowned Clare Valley, you'll find Calcannia. Our name draws its inspiration from the road that gracefully winds alongside the vineyard, epitomizing our connection to the land. Located just 6 kilometers north of the township of Clare, and adjacent to the serene Hutt River, the vineyard basks in perfect conditions for crafting wines of exceptional quality
Vinification & Winemaking: In the 2019 Clare Valley vintage, dry conditions and early spring frosts led to reduced yields. Despite this, the low-yielding vines yielded grapes with intense color and rich flavors. The small-batch open ferments, known for enhancing wine flavors, were employed to capture the intensity of the premium Clare Valley fruit. Maturing in French and American oak for 24 months imparts soft tannins, round fruit characters, and subtle oak nuances

Intensely flavored fruit, supported by medium round tannins, contributes length to the mid and back palate
