Vineyard:Grapes are from the Deanery vineyard in Balhannah and Murdoch Hill vineyard in Oakbank - Adelaide Hills. Vintage Condition: A lovely season with no major weather events during the crucial ripening period of the Shiraz. Rain at the end of the season but this had no effect on the Shiraz. Grape Variety: 100% Shiraz - Region: Adelaide Hill Winemaker’s Comment:Both blocks were harvested 6 days apart at the beginning of April. Each block was fermented with 25% whole bunch. The Deanery block was pressed to oak, 15% new after 8 days on skins and the Downer block was pressed to oak, 25% new, after 13 days on skins. Both were left on full solids in barrel until they were racked to tank and blended 3 weeks prior to bottling. This blend is approximately 70% Deanery and 30% Murdoch Hill.Botted unfilterered and unstablilsed in October 2022. Small add of Sulphur at bottling. No other adds. Style : Aroma;Raspberry, blueberry Palate: The wine is plush, bright an delicious. Soft and juicy on the palate but finishes with tannin and structure.
