Bodegas Tierra - Spain
Located in Labastida (Rioja Alavesa), Bodegas Tierra is a family project headed by Carlos Fernandez together with his brother Fidel and Rail. Today Carlos loves to take visitors to the countryside because "if there is one thing we can boast about, it is our vineyards", he says proudly. They owned 24 hectares plus another 20 rented hectares spread over different parts of this large municipality that stretches from the banks of the Ebro River. This has allow them to be one of the first wineries to qualify as village wines. According to Carlos, the vineyards from the village to the river are dominated by the Mediterranean climate, while those from the village to the mountain are influenced by the Atlantic.
