Winemakers Comments :
2023 was the coldest, wettest and trickiest years we’ve faced. Endless rain on the east coast over the last few years came to roost with the Murray River flooding to the second highest levels in recorded history in the Riverland. Persistent rain through Spring and early summer meant not only was harvest delayed by several weeks as fruit ripened slowly, but disease pressures were high with winemaker and grape grower nerves being put to the test. Luckily a healthy vineyard and some warm sunshine in early autumn helped the fruit develop nicely, producing a suite of pretty, more subtle wines this year
The Hell Series wines represent our experimentation with winemaking techniques, and allow the fruit to express different, unique and compelling characteristics.
The Macerato is our homage to the skin contact white wines we revere so much, an attempt to emulate those masters of orange wine but with our own Delinquente spin – keep it refreshing and super drinkable. Arinto and Malvasia the perfect varieties for the task – acid driven and fresh, but with a fruitiness that stand up alongside the structure and tannin. Fermented on skins until sugar dry, then blended skins and all and sealed for another 5 weeks before being pressed off to old oak for the winter months.9 months in barrel.

Color: Golden Color
Style/Palate: Plush fruit on the palate overlayed with tannin, the gentle oak aging rounding out the hard corners to create a moreish.
Aormas: tropical fruits – almost pineapple
Food Pairing : duck ragu, or a herbaceous massaman curry
