Conceito is concept's meaning, it is a Portuguese family winery. Its headquartered located in Cedovim Nova de Fozc, a city of the Douro Valley.
The Ferriera family acquired 83 hectares of vineyards around the Vale da Teja in in the 1940 of the 20th century, with four vineyard vineyards, all in Teja Valley  (place colder than Douro Superior): Quinta da Veiga (20 hectares), Quinta Doch (20 hectares), O-do-Pereiro do Quinta (23 hectares) and a 10 hectare vineyard at the top of the valley which use only for white grapes. The local climate is particularly cold, high-altitude, between 450 meters and 600 meters, with granite and schist soils. The first wine was issued in 2004, before which the grapes were sold to other wine makers.
Winemaker Rita Marques is helping her mother's family in managing the winery. She was educated in Douro and Bordeaux, and has been absorbing professional experience in Douro, California, Bordeaux, New Zealand and South Africa to learn to make wines. In the brewing process, Rita is to maintain a minimal intervention, as far as possible to show the original surface of the grapes.  She is very respect on terroir. In its 83 hectares of vineyards, no herbicides or pesticides are used, and grapes are carefully selected when harvested.
Conceito produces 120,000 bottles a year in Portugal, produces 25,000 bottles in New Zealand, and produces 5000 bottles in South Africa, making it one of the youngest and most dynamic Portuguese producers today. 98% of the products are exported to more than more than 20 countries; The main markets are Brazil, Switzerland, Canada, Norway and Angola.
The Conceito Wines series includes Conceito White Tawny, years old and Porto Vintage, as well as Contraste white and red. Conceito released the mixed grapes of Vinho Verde Alvarinho, New Zealand sauvignon Blanc and South Africa Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
In just a few years, Conceito Wines won the recognition of quality and individuality, and made them respected in consumers around the world.
