Production information
2010 Vinsanto Del Chianti DOC “Uggiano”

Background : Azienda Uggiano was originally founded by a group of Begamo merchants with a passion for Tuscany wines and was inspired by Giuseppe Losapio, a French wine expert.
In 1976, the vineyard was built in San Vincenzo a Torri, a village in the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by monasteries, churches and country houses.
"Vin Santo" translates as "Holly Wine", which has historically been used for sacramental purposes during Catholic Mass. In fact, many of Tuscany's greatest wineries are located in monasteries thousands of years ago.
There are more than a dozen DoCs of Vin Santo in Tuscany, but the most important are Vin Santo del Chianti, Vin Santo del Chianti Classico and Vin S. in 1997, 1995 and 1996 Anto di Montepulciano.
Vineyards : 250-300 meters above sea level. The vineyards of Azienda Uggiano extend to the slopes of Montereupo Fliorentino and San Casciano Val di Pesa. Since 1976, the cellar has been located in San Vincenzo a Torri, near the Pisa River, and is a wonderful testimony to the Tuscany past and tradition
